MIXTAPE Vol. 10: One Love Manchester

When life knocks you down 9 times, then get up 10 times! No perfect words can describe how much I adore the inspiring Moonlight Bae, Ariana Grande. After being dragged into devastating tragedy, I can’t imagine how the attack must have been traumatic for her. But instead, she handled it with grace and righteous intentions. She decided to return and initiate a benefit concert with some fellow musicians.

So today, I’d like to share you my most favorite tear-jerking performances during One Love Manchester. And yeah, you should probably keep that box of tissue right next to you, cause you might need it as well. Let’s sing along!

1. Black Eyed Peas & Ariana Grande – “Where is The Love”

It has been 14 years since this song looped into our playlist and still so relevant with the world situation. I swear you need to listen how the crowd were rapping word by word. This is just the definition of goosebumps!

Fave Part: Whatever happened to the values of humanity? // Whatever happened to the fairness and equality? // Instead of spreading love we’re spreading animosity // Lack of understanding / leading us away from unity //

2. Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Ariana Grande – “Don’t Look Back in Anger”

“Ariana, we all wanna say thank you to you for being so strong and so wonderful. You’ve been singing a lot for us. So I think, we in Britain wanna sing for you. This is called Don’t Look Back in Anger, and this is from us to you.” -Chris Martin

Fave Part: All of ’em!

3. Pharrell Williams & Miley Cyrus – “Happy”

Pharrell and Miley are simply 2 freakin’ souls whom I look up to since forever. Like forever. What a surprise to catch this uplifting song from them both. God! I really wannabe in the middle of that Old Trafford crowd! 😭

Fave Part: I should probably warn you I’ll be just fine // No offense to you / don’t waste your time // Here’s why! // Because I’m happy //

4. Katy Perry – “Roar”

There is no doubt that Katy knows how to make pretty bold statement on stage. First, by putting the sample of Hard Knock Life by Jay-Z on the intro. Second, she printed some Instagram photos of Manchester attack victims on her dress. Vroom! Vroom!

Fave Part: Now I’m floating like a butterfly // Stinging like a bee I earned my stripes //

5. Ariana Grande – “One Last Time”

The way she holds her boyfriend’s hand on the first verse. The way she tried not to burst into a tears. The way she stand tough to even finish this closing act. To me, this little human being is just 23 years old normal person with such a brave heart.

Fave Part: All I really care is you wake up in my arms // One last time // I need to be / the one / who takes you home //
